It's been raining this week, Praise The Lord!!! From what I've heard, it sounds like there will be fireworks on the 4th of July!!!! Kevin's ship PASSED their big pre-deployment inspection!!! Kevin has off tomorrow, Saturday & Sunday...and of course today was my day off, oh well.

So I come home from the store, set the toilet paper down to unpack
the other things, and guess who attacks the toilet paper? BUDDY!!!!!
Guess I'll have to put the toilet paper away first, next time!!

Excuse the workout clothes, I just got back from Zumba.

If you like to dance, I highly recommend you take Zumba workout classes!!!
It's so fun, and trust me, I'm not a professional dancer. I've learned some
merengue, salsa, cumbia, flamenco, swing, cha-cha-cha, samba and more!!

Anywho...today I have the day off, so I'm enjoying it to the fullest!!!

Officially Mr. & Mrs.

For our 2nd Anniversary I made a red velvet cake & decorated it.
This was my first time writing with icing. So yes I know I'm

no where near being a cake decorator.

I actually made the cake last Tuesday because Kevin had to
work on our Anniversary anyway(going out to sea for the day)
so I figured we should enjoy the cake earlier.


For our first anniversary we went to Busch Gardens in Virginia.
Here we are during the 4th of July weekend 2010 at my parents house,
about to eat our "fresh" top tier cake. I say fresh, because this isn't really
the top tier from our wedding cake. The bakery gave us a gift card to use
for our anniversary cake so it would be nice and fresh.

Happy 80th Birthday to my wonderful Grandmother!!!

I have the day off today, however Kevin does not. Kevin's ship starts their big pre-deployment inspection tomorrow. He's spending the night on the ship tonight. Please pray that the ship passes inspection, and for Kevin, with the long hours he will be working.

It's baaaaaaaaaack!!

After enjoying a few smoke free days, the smoke from the fires has returned. Today it was very hot. I felt like I got sunburned just by walking to the mailbox, across the street. It's suppose to rain Thursday-Tuesday. I sure hope it does!! Due to the lack of rain, the 4th of July fireworks could be cancelled. What's 4th of July without fireworks?! Apparently this is not the first time this has happened here.

Other than that, Kevin and I are good. Work is keeping us busy. Buddy is doing good too....see?

P.S. I finished reading Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo. I enjoyed it a lot!! I'll probably read it again someday. It would be a good summer read for anyone!!

Last night it thunder stormed real good, people lost power (luckily ours only flickered), trees were knocked down and there was hail. I hope the rain helped some of the fires here, however the weathermen are worried the lightning created new fires. After the thunderstorm yesterday, it brought all this smoke our way. Today the sky has been smokey. Here's a picture to give you an idea of what I mean by smokey skies:

The weathermen are also concerned about the hot temperatures, close to 100, because that my also cause fires. They said this morning on a scale from 1-5....5 starting fires, we are at a 4.  Please please please pray for some rain to come our way!!

Anywho.....today I was making Buddy work for his treats.

Then I hid the treat on the middle of the window.

Last night during the storm, he decided he could fit on that little ledge, where
the locks for the window are. Needless to say, he got up there, then didn't
know how to get down. Good thing I was right there to help him. Crazy cat!!
That box Buddy is standing on, is the box he sits on and watches all the
action on the street: kids playing outside, other cats, cars coming & going, etc.


I am currently reading Heaven is for Real.
"It's about a little boy's astounding story of his trip to Heaven and back."
It's an easy read, and I recommend it to anyone.


That's all for now...oh and I hope the Phillies beat the Florida Marlins!!!

Rain, rain...please come today!

Please pray for rain in Florida! Currently there's a total of 29 wildfires totaling about 300 acres in the three-county area, Bowen said. All of them are contained but still burning as of 9 p.m. Saturday  6/11/11.
The sky is sometimes hazy and smoke smell is terrible, sometimes gives me headaches.

The "D" word

Deployment - feels like a big gray cloud, that's getting closer and closer to my head, and it's going to pour rain when Kevin leaves. Kevin doesn't leave until sometime in August (he's not allowed to tell me the date), and today I got a glimpse of what it will be like.

Back when I was working at the SuperCuts in Delaware, I was working with my friend Wendy. Well her husband Julio, recruited Kevin to join the Navy. Now they are stationed in Florida too, so Wendy and I are working together again!! However, Julio is on deployment. They have 2 beautiful daughters. My friend Jonathan, Melissa's husband, is on the same ship as Julio.

Please pray for all the troops, and their families.

Michele

Today my friend Michele & her husband (who are both in the Navy, Michele use to work with Kevin in Virginia), stopped by my job to visit & so I could cut Michele's hair. They were on their way back to  Virginia, from spending a week or so visiting family in Florida. Michele is currently pregnant with their first child and is due in August. Can't wait to meet her son, someday!!

Trip to Delaware

I've really been enjoying my trip to Delaware! Wedneday May 25th, I went to the Phillies game with Andrea. It was her 1st Phillies game, and we stayed for the whole 19 innings. The new jumbo screen at the Phillies stadium is pretty cool!!

I'm especially very proud of my brother. He graduated from Seminary.

My Mom would take my brother & I to Bernie's, and well I enjoyed it

as a kid, and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't change as an adult. And surely, I still like it!! :)

Today Kevin and I became residents of  Florida. I feel as though a part of me died today, haha! At least Florida let's you smile for your driver's license picture, unlike Delaware - you gotta have a mug shot.
