This morning

There was a beautiful rainbow. Perhaps the calm before hurricane Irene comes up the coast. Thankfully it's
suppose to stay out to sea here, but we will get some rain.

Update

Tuesday morning I had to take Mei-Ling to the cat clinic for her vaccination. Well let me tell you, she does NOT like car rides (although I don't know a cat that does). Listen to her meowing in the car (and yes she is under the blanket in the pet carrier):

This morning I went bowling & out to lunch with Elaine, one of the ladies from my Bible Study. I had a lot of fun even though I lost all 3 games of bowling. haha!!

Also today, Kevin's ship ported in Souda Bay, Crete!!! Not sure how long they'll be there, he's not allowed to say. Here he is:

Since he is in port, we got to skype today!!! He doesn't have a webcam on his laptop, but hearing his voice again was just as great!! After I skyped with him, I went to the beach & to dinner with Melissa. I had a wonderful day off!!!

Lately

For the past 3 days I've been hungry enough to eat 3 meals a day, and feeling more like myself. Thank goodness!! I've been looking forward to getting ideas and items to start sending Kevin packages!! :)

Since Kevin's been deployed, so far (boy I hope I don't jinx it, haha!) he has been able to e-mail me at least once a day. However the other night I got to instant message with him on facebook!! It wasn't a long conversation, but it sure was better than none at all!!! It made my night!!

Not gonna lie....

This deployment deal has me out of it. My mind is so scattered, I have a hard time remembering things or I may ask someone to repeat what they just said. Sometimes I don't even want to eat. Like today I went to Chic-Fil-A with some ladies from Church, I ordered a chicken caesar wrap, and could only eat half of it. And let me tell you, that's not me, because I love to eat. The ladies were asking me how things went yesterday with Kevin leaving etc., then one of the ladies saw my U.S. Navy necklace (that I posted a picture of in a previous post) and asked me if Kevin had the other half and I said,"Yes." then started crying. However I must say I'm so thankful for my friends here. They've all been so wonderful, offering to have me over for dinner, go bowling, lend a shoulder to cry on or just to simply call anytime to talk etc. I am very blessed!!

Buddy

He sure knows how to cheer me up! I took a nap on the couch today, and before I fell asleep Buddy went to sleep at the end of the couch (where my feet are in the picture). When I woke up, this is where I found him.

He sure knows how to cheer me up! Hopefully Mei-Ling will come around to the idea of cuddling too!

Bittersweet

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Mother!! I love you so much!!

Today is bittersweet because today is also D-day.

I gave Kevin half of this necklace. They both say the same thing, front & back.

On the ship.

Moving the ramp

Look for Kevin waving.

After I saw them leave from the pier, I went to the beach and watched them leave.

Hillsong United Concert

Such an AWESOME Worship Experience!!! I totally needed it!!

Here are some Hillsong United videos from youtube :

Sunday

Yesterday afternoon I picked up my friend Melissa from the airport. That's right, she's back!! :)

Last night Kevin and I went to PF Changs for dinner. On our way there, we saw all this smoke:

Later we found out that lightning started 2 fires (this is a road I take to work everyday).

Today I've been cleaning and doing wash. However tonight I am going to the Hillsong United Concert with my friend Melissa! Can't wait! I think it's just what I need, before D-day, this week.

So thankful that tropical storm/hurricane Emily weakened, so Kevin did NOT have to leave early for deployment. Praise the Lord!

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Please pray that tropical storm/hurricane Emily does NOT head our way (even though it looks like it will). Kevin would have to leave for deployment earlier than planned.

Our fur-balls

For those of you who don't know.....The day we were leaving for vacation, I had to work until 5pm, therefore Kevin had to drop Buddy off at the cat clinic, where he'd be staying all week (plus he got his front paws declawed while he was there, sorry if you're against that). Well Kevin fell in love with one of the cats there that happened to be up for adoption. So after he dropped Buddy off, he drove back to my place of employment and told me about this cat up for adoption. So, now that we are home, we are "testing" her out. The cat clinic is letting us test her out for two weeks, to see how her and Buddy get along. If it doesn't work out, we can take her back. So today is day 3 of her in our home.  Let's just say the first day, neither of them were happy with each other. However each day seems to be getting better. Today they had some treats on the couch together.

Her name is: Mei-Ling
Mei pronounced may.
Yeah, we didn't name her. The cat clinic did.
Buddy & Mei-Ling are about the same age.

Also, my brother is engaged!! I'm happy for him & Holly!!

P.S.  D-day is next week. I'm not looking forward to it. I'll try not to have many sad/depressing future posts, for the next 7 months, but I can't promise anything. I'll do my best not to.
